Strathfield South, NSW, 2136
This beautiful, original, 1960s home in Sydney’s west is the perfect step back in time, it is basically your nan’s house. Original shag carpets, time-worn and peeling wallpaper, led-light windows and furnishings to match the era of the home.
The centrepiece of this home is the gorgeous semi-spiral staircase which snakes its way up the walls. Fireplaces and bookcases, artworks and glorious amounts of space and light. On the ground floor are two old-styled bedrooms, complete with doilies and charming curtains, a huge, light-filled dining room with skylights and wooden walls with a desk. The kitchen is mid 90s with a dishwasher and modern appliances, completely white and bright. The main bathroom also lives downstairs with a walk in shower. The yard is a large expanse of grass and contains a workshop / shed, well loved cubby house (on bricks) and as many ladders as a human ever needs. The top floor of this white weatherboard home (right next to a modern mansion) contains another 2 bedrooms, one with two single beds and a large desk, the other with a bunk bed and desk, both with wardrobes. The upstairs bathroom is a small aqua room with a shower and toilet. This time-warp home is perfect for a quick trip back to a time when we didn’t need all that fancy stuff.
