Darlinghurst, NSW, 2010
The Gallery is a 300sqm creative venue in Darlinghurst with multiple distinct looks under one roof. The gallery spaces are clean and controlled, with white walls, pale floors, track lighting, plinths, glass balustrades and displays that give the place a sharp, museum-like mood. It can play contemporary gallery, private showroom, high-end retail, collector’s space, design event or a quietly unsettling room where someone is absolutely hiding something.
The main display areas offer strong depth and clean framing, with open floor space, wall-mounted works, shelving, plinths and dramatic object displays ready to hold the camera. The oversized skull-like sculpture and mineral pieces bring instant texture and picture value, while the white cube finish keeps the space flexible for art department, fashion, editorial, interviews, brand shoots and gallery-based scenes.
There is also a softer lounge-style zone with neutral furniture, plants, artwork and an indoor-outdoor feel, giving productions a more relaxed second look without needing a company move.
The rooftop terrace adds another useful layer, with city views, pale paving, cactus, sculptural planting, outdoor seating and a round dining table with muted green chairs
